Drew Heard (Universität Hamburg): Ascent for stratifications
June 27th, 2017
Abstract
Let f : R --> S be a morphism of commutative Noetherian ring spectra. We show that, under mild assumptions on f, if Mod R is canonically (co)stratified (in the sense of Benson--Iyengar--Krause), then so is Mod S. Besides simplifying the treatment of several important examples in the literature, we apply our ascent approach to obtain (co)stratification for many types of homotopical groups, including p-compact groups, finite loop spaces, and p-local finite groups. This is joint work with Barthel, Castellana, and Valenzuela.
